The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors have approved a five year air ambulance services contract with CALSTAR, also known as REACH and is a subsidiary of Global Medical Response.
CALSTAR has been providing air ambulance services in Santa Barbara County since 2006 and is based out of the Santa Maria Airport but due to an administrative issue, the contract lapsed in July 2023 but despite the gap in the agreement, there was no lapse in service from CALSTAR.
