The first S-70i Black Hawk built by PZL Mielec has been delivered to the Romanian Emergency Rescue Service, Serviciul Mobil de Urgență, Reanimare și Descarcerare (SMURD), at the headquarters of the General Aviation Inspectorate of the Ministry of Interior.
The original order for twelve S-70i Black Hawks purchased within the framework of the European Vision 2020 project, but this has now been reduced to seven helicopters. Three are will be configured for maritime operations and three for land operations, and the final one will be operated by the Romanian Police. The final aircraft is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2023.
