NSW Rural Fire Service to Receive Two Black Hawks
In an announcement by Federal and State Governments this morning, the NSW RFS will receive two Black Hawk helicopters over the coming years to assist with fires and emergencies across NSW.
The Black Hawks will come from the Australian Defence Forces and will be used for RAFT operations within the NSW Rural Fire Service, upgrading from the current BK117s. The use of these aircraft will not take away from the contracted fire fighting aircraft.
"These ex-war machines will provide effective & lifesaving capacity to combat fires, floods and all manner of emergency situations in NSW" said Minister for Emergency Services Troy Grant.
