Vita AerospaceTM, part of Vita Inclinata Technologies, an innovator in intelligent lifting solutions for rescue crews and other field safety applications, unveils today the new PELICAN Rapid Extraction Device (R.E.D.), a full-capture hybrid rescue product, developed by Air Rescue Systems® (ARS), alongside its expanded training program. The company is showcasing these groundbreaking advancements for the first time at the HAI Heli-Expo 2024 at booth #5902.

The PELICAN R.E.D. represents a significant leap forward in rescue products, offering unparalleled performance and ensuring full victim capture during water, land and vertical extraction operations. Unlike traditional collar or strop devices used in water rescues, the PELICAN eliminates the “double lift” process and the risk of losing victims during extraction while minimizing the physical and psychological impact on rescuers and survivors. There’s no need for active victim participation.

Additional key features of the PELICAN R.E.D. include:

“Our team is dedicated to innovating and delivering unparalleled solutions to meet the demanding needs of the rescue community. Our latest innovation, the PELICAN Rapid Extraction Device, represents our ongoing commitment to engineering excellence,” said President of Air Rescue Systems, Bob Cockell. “We are proud to be pushing the boundaries of what's possible in aerospace safety to bring people home safely."

Vita and ARS will also launch an expanded search and rescue (SAR) training for all levels. This comprehensive, standardized curriculum covers the entire spectrum of helicopter SAR operations, from foundational training to establishing hoist and short-haul rescue to advanced Human External Cargo and Special Ops techniques. Developed with the expertise of SAR professionals, the program aims to equip rescue teams worldwide with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond safely and effectively to emergencies.

“At Vita Aerospace, we're empowering SAR professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of helicopter operations and save lives in even the most challenging environments," said Vita Aerospace Executive Vice President Matt Christensen.

Vita representatives will also demonstrate its industry-known intelligent lifting solution, the Vita Rescue System, which significantly enhances the success of the hoist mission by allowing for precision control of the rescue device.
