Eutelsat and OroraTech have announced a strategic partnership to deploy OroraTech thermal infrared payloads across Eutelsat’s future Low Earth Orbit (LEO) infrastructure. Under the agreement, OroraTech has reserved capacity for 48 payloads, with an option for an additional 48 in the future, creating a pathway towards up to 96 thermal sensors on Eutelsat satellites.

The partnership brings together complementary French and German capabilities: Eutelsat’s large-scale European LEO infrastructure and OroraTech’s operational thermal intelligence technology, payloads, and analytics platform. It represents a major step toward a sovereign European thermal intelligence layer capable of delivering increasingly persistent and low-latency monitoring of the Earth.

“This partnership is about moving from satellites to infrastructure,” said Martin Langer, CEO of OroraTech. “Eutelsat has built a unique European LEO infrastructure, while OroraTech has built the world’s leading operational thermal intelligence capability. By combining both, we create a credible path toward persistent, low-latency thermal intelligence at global scale - built in Europe and available to European sovereign customers.” Jean-François Fallacher, Chief Executive Officer, Eutelsat commented: “The severe wildfires experienced in France, Germany and elsewhere in Europe this summer highlight the growing threat facing communities and the environment. We are pleased to work with OroraTech to embark its detection technology aboard our future satellites and contribute to efforts to identify fires earlier. This partnership will also extend the use of our LEO satellites into an important new area, complementing the role our connectivity can play in supporting emergency teams on the ground.”

For OroraTech, the agreement provides three key strategic advantages:

Scale: a path from today’s constellation to industrial-scale deployment, materially increasing revisit rates and reducing detection latency.

Capital-efficient growth: hosted payloads allow OroraTech to scale its sensing network without having to finance and launch a dedicated spacecraft for every sensor.

Resilience and sovereignty: the deployment further diversifies OroraTech’s constellation across multiple platforms while anchoring a significant part of future expansion in European infrastructure.

Because OroraTech’s payloads continuously collect thermal data, the same infrastructure can simultaneously support multiple customers and applications - from wildfire and critical infrastructure monitoring to maritime awareness, environmental intelligence and security applications. Each additional payload therefore increases the value of the overall network rather than serving a single customer or geography.
