Slovakian based HELI COMPANY has commenced its operations in Cyprus for the 2026 fire season. Four UH-60 A/L helicopters equipped with the required mission-specific equipment, together with complete flight crews and technical support teams, are fully deployed and ready to respond immediately to any occurrence of wildfires or natural fires.

Following arrival on the island, a rapid and effective integration of the HELI COMPANY team into the local operational structures was carried out. Thanks to experience from previous seasons and a detailed understanding of the operating environment, all key processes were established within a relatively short timeframe, the readiness of the equipment was verified, and the operation transitioned into a state of continuous fire readiness.

The state of 24/7 fire standby, internal aviation operational procedures, helicopter mission capabilities, and individual equipment were also reviewed by a delegation of representatives of the Republic of Cyprus, led by Panayiotis Symeou, Director of Defence, Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus; Lieutenant Colonel Zacharias Zachariou, Head of the Air Support Department, Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus; and Nikos Longinos, Chief Fire Officer of the Cyprus Fire Service. The delegation confirmed the high level of readiness of the HELI COMPANY team as we enter the current fire season.

HELI COMPANY’s ongoing objective is to continuously reaffirm its position as a reliable and experienced partner in aerial firefighting, even under the most demanding conditions. The conditions in Cyprus traditionally present a high risk of fire ignition and rapid fire spread; therefore, response speed, precision of aerial firefighting operations, and coordination with ground forces are critical.

Our primary objective remains unchanged: to provide effective aerial support in the protection of lives, property, and the natural environment.
