Helitak has received a Supplemental Type Certificate from Transport Canada Civil Aviation for the installation of the Helitak FT4250 Fire Tank, in alignment with the documents listed under FAA STC SR04509CH.

This certification marks a significant expansion of Helitak’s operational footprint into the Canadian aerial firefighting market, reinforcing its position as a global leader in innovative helicopter-based firefighting solutions.

The FT4250, a high-capacity belly-mounted fire suppression tank, is engineered specifically for the Airbus AS332 Super Puma platforms. Known for its lightweight carbon fiber design and rapid fill/drop capabilities, the FT4250 enables firefighting operators to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining optimal aircraft performance and safety.

"This approval from TCCA is a major achievement for Helitak and a testament to the quality, reliability, and global applicability of our equipment," said Jason Schellaars, CEO of Helitak Firefighting Equipment. "With wildfires increasing in both frequency and severity, the demand for certified, high-performance aerial firefighting solutions has never been greater. We’re proud to now bring our FT4250 capabilities to Canada."

Helitak Firefighting equipment now has STC issued under the FAA, EASA and TCCA for the FT4250 tank system.

The TCCA STC approval enables Canadian operators to immediately integrate the FT4250 system into their Puma fleets, offering enhanced mission readiness and critical firefighting capabilities during Canada’s increasingly intense wildfire seasons.
