Momentum Aeronautics is proud to announce that Heatwave has received approval from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency, ANAC, marking another major international certification milestone for the company’s amphibious scooping float platform for the Air Tractor 802A.
The ANAC approval follows FAA STC approval and EASA STC validation, continuing a rapid sequence of certifications that expands access to Heatwave for aerial firefighting operators around the world.
Brazil represents an important step in Heatwave’s global market expansion. ANAC approval opens the opportunity for operators in South America to access the platform.
Heatwave was engineered from the ground up for the Air Tractor 802A, with a focus on improving pilot operating margins during water operations. The platform incorporates a single-scoop-safe design, allowing safe operation even if one of the two scoops is not deployed. Additional design features include optimized float positioning for stable water handling and forward structural reinforcement to better absorb large wave impacts. A fully redesigned nose landing gear system provides smooth touchdowns, improving both water and ground handling.
Momentum Aeronautics is aware of strong demand in Brazil and will support the market through its Brazilian dealer, Frost Flying, which is ready to assist operators with inquiries and orders.
“This certification in Brazil is another step toward getting Heatwave into the hands of operators. We’ve put a lot into building a platform that performs where it matters, and we’re ready to see it go to work.” — Dan Garrett, President and Founder of Momentum Aeronautics
Heatwave is sold out through 2026, with future delivery positions filling quickly. Operators are encouraged to reserve their place as production capacity remains limited.
