The 43 Grupo de Fuerzas Aéreas (43rd Air Force Group) of the España Ejército del Aire (Spanish Air Force) have celebrated a milestone having flown 200,000 hours with their De Havilland Canadair CL-215T and CL-415 waterbomber aircraft.

The 43rd Air Force Group is a unit of the Spanish Air Force whose main mission is fighting forest fires, with crews and aircraft ready to respond to forest fires 365 days a year.

During the summer fire season they maintaining a minimum of 70% of its aircraft and crews available, ready to respond anywhere in Spain. During this period, they also deploy seven detachments across Spain in addition to maintaining the alert service at Torrejón Air Base.
