The Aviation Industry Corporation of China has completed extreme cold envelope expansion flight tests of the AC332 in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, extending its cold temperature operating range to -40°C.

The trials included 10 flight sorties totaling over 11 hours, plus 4 ground tests of over 2 hours. The trials covered 16 key items in extreme conditions to verify the helicopter’s reliability and safety at extreme cold temperatures and taking a step closer to type certification.

From high altitudes and cold environments, the AC332 is proving itself for all operating for all weather missions, including cargo delivery, SAR and medical evacuation.
