Davenport Aviation is proud to announce that the Kaua’i County Fire Department has placed an order for a new Airbus H145 helicopter, marking a significant advancement in the department’s aviation capabilities and a major step forward in operational safety.

The new H145 represents a transition from the department’s current MD500 to a modern, twin-engine platform designed to support the unique demands of island operations. With increased power, redundancy, and mission flexibility, the H145 will enable Kaua’i County Fire Department to enhance its ability to conduct critical missions across the island, surrounding waters, and challenging terrain.

Kaua’i County’s operating environment presents a wide range of mission requirements, including search and rescue, hoist operations, maritime response, and aerial firefighting. The H145’s twin-engine performance, advanced avionics, and spacious cabin significantly improve safety margins while allowing crews to operate more efficiently and effectively in demanding conditions.

“We’re very proud to work with the Kaua‘i Fire Department as they expand their aviation capabilities to better serve and protect their community,” said Chris Arnold, Director of Government Sales at Davenport Aviation. “This investment reflects a long-term commitment to emergency response, aviation safety, and the protection of life.”

As public safety missions continue to evolve, agencies are increasingly turning to modern aircraft that offer greater safety, capability, and operational flexibility. The addition of the H145 positions the Kaua‘i Fire Department with a platform designed to support complex aerial operations in demanding environments.

“We are proud and excited to work alongside Davenport Aviation and Airbus Helicopters in acquiring this new H145 for the Kaua‘i Fire Department,” said Fire Chief Michael Gibson. “This aircraft represents a significant investment in the safety of our community and our responders.”

Davenport Aviation looks forward to supporting the Kaua‘i County Fire Department throughout the delivery and integration process.
