REISER Simulation and Training GmbH (REISER), in collaboration with Varjo, announces the pre-qualification of the REISER H145 D3 Mixed-Reality (MR) Helicopter Simulator by the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA).
The simulator combines a full-scale haptic cockpit with two fully instrumented XR crew stations for pilot and co-pilot to practice SOPs, checklist flows, CRM, and mutual cross-checks in fully immersive scenarios.

REISER CTO Martin Keil: “With this achievement, REISER once again sets a new industry benchmark. We are the first to unite MR with a fully haptic cockpit, and to do so within a system that can be seamlessly operated in our proven full-flight simulators using roll-on/roll-off cockpit technology. This innovation underlines our mission to make the power of perception come alive in every training environment.”

Varjo CRO Valentin Storz adds: “REISER’s XR Simulator is integrated with Varjo’s latest XR-4 Series headsets that are purpose-built for mission-critical training. Together, we are enabling pilot training to take a fundamental leap toward virtual environments. We are proud to work with REISER in driving the adoption of qualified mixed reality FSTDs.”

The H145 D3 XR simulator holds pre-qualification with the LBA under applicable EASA Special Conditions and is recognised as conferring FTD-3 privileges. Finally, full FTD-3 certification will follow the required FSTDO qualification process and is expected to conclude early next year.
