Shadowcat Marine, a bespoke designer of support yachts of all sizes with tailor made capabilities, has unveiled a new support yacht concept called "Sentinel," which is its first single-hulled support yacht design. It will be debuted at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2025 and is designed to be a more affordable and flexible support vessel than traditional catamarans.
The Sentinel is a single-hulled vessel with a 69.2m length and an 11.5m beam, built upon the award-winning aluminum hull design of Incat Crowther. It includes dual landing pads and a hangar, as well as storage for a range of equipment like tenders, jet skis, and vehicles.
The helipads and hangar are fully certified for helicopters weighing six+ tons, with a possible D-value of over 16.1 meters, a crucial measurement for the design and operation of helidecks and heliports. This value specifies the largest overall dimension of the helicopter with its rotors turning and includes the H145, H160 and AW139.
The Sentinel is powered by three MTU diesel engines, it can reach a top speed of 21 knots and features innovative green technology to minimize its environmental impact. It is designed to provide a bespoke and flexible support option for superyacht owners, offering a competitive price and delivery window.
