McDermott Aviation is Australia’s largest privately owned Heli-Aviation company, operating from bases across Australia, Europe, and the USA, and home to the world’s largest fleet of the most powerful single-engine, twin-bladed helicopter – the Bell 214B. We provide Aerial Fire Fighting, Biosecurity, Agricultural, and Helicopter Lifting services and support.

The Role
Based at our Cooroy facility, you will support our operations in delivering a range of aerial applications through the safe and efficient transfer, mixing, and loading of chemical solutions. You will also play a key role in maintaining the base, aircraft, and associated equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable ground support to our aircraft, including delivery, loading, and transfer of substances for specific applications.
• Mix and load various substances, both liquid and solid, into aircraft to support specific activities.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance of equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Conduct day-to-day maintenance, including shed, yard, and equipment upkeep.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of chemicals, fuels, and equipment.
• Operate machinery and perform tasks in compliance with WHS regulations and company safety procedures.
• Assist with ad hoc technical or mechanical tasks as required to support operations.

About You

• A valid driver’s licence; an unrestricted HR & DG licence is preferred.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing operational needs.
• Motivated to perform in a disciplined, safety-focused aviation environment.
• Industrious, proactive, and eager to contribute to a growing operation.
• Previous experience in aircraft or machinery maintenance is highly desirable but not essential. Full on-the-job training will be provided.
