Turkish Aerospace Industries have delivered the first T625 Gökbey general purpose helicopter to the Turkish Army Aviation Command, the aviation branch of the Turkish Land Forces Command.

The Gökbey will replace the ageing AB205/UH-1H Huey/Iroquois operated by the Turkish Army service. The recipient of the first Army version of the Gökbey is 3rd Regiment, 1st Battalion, 2nd Company at İzmir-Gaziemir.

The Turkish Land Forces are to receive an initial batch of 15 domestically developed Gökbey helicopters, with a second aircraft due later this year. The Turkish Army is the second military operator of the type after the Gendarmerie, which already operates five examples. One aircraft has recently been delivered to the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health.
