The Caïman Marine NH90 simulator at the Hyères naval air base has resumed its functions after several months of renovation.
Composed of two distinct parts, this simulator allows for comprehensive crew training:
The Medium Range Training Device, front part is crewed by a pilot and a Tactical Coordination Officer. The Rear Cabin Trainer
rear section is crewed by a Sensor Operator.)
Piloted by a specialist Air and Maritime Operations simulator instructor, who operates the simulator to make the session more immersive, creating flight conditions and introducing malfunctions. He also provides the functions involved in piloting aircraft in real life which include: air traffic controller, watch officer and tactical controller etc.
Thanks to the simulator the crews are able to train in Nighttime and extreme weather conditions plus specific tactical maneuvers
All types of flights can be simulated, allowing crews to prepare for all missions of the Caïman Marine. The realism of the images and the precision of the controls offer total immersion, thus optimizing their operational readiness.
