The first AW139 of the Cyprus Air Force has undergone maintenance at the Leonardo EASA certified Part-145 Maintenance Organization facility located at Liege-Bierset airport, Belgium. The MRO mainly focus on supporting the operations of Leonardo operators in central-north Europe. The aircraft has now returned to the Cyprus Ministry of Defence.

The Cyprus Ministry of Defence operates five AW139s, which are used for SAR, Tactical support and HEMS. The first three were ordered in 2008 and delivered in 2011, with the remaining two acquired by the Ministry of Justice, to bring the total number of AW139s in Cyprus to five.
