The Portuguese Air Force has completed provisional acceptance of the sixth UH-60L Black Hawk. In the aircraft will be based at Air Base No. 8, in Maceda reinforce 551 Squadron 551, "Pantheras".

The funding for the Black Hawk order came from the Recovery and Resilience Program, nine UH-60s were ordered, six as Lima versions with advanced engines, external winch and weather radar. These helicopters will be used to strengthen Portugal’s capacity to combat rural fires.
