As France faces several large scale forest fires, European rescEU helicopters from Sweden and Czechia are on their way to France to support firefighting efforts.
Sweden has sent two Air Tractor AT-802F Fire Boss aircraft that operate as part of the European rescEU fleet. Flown and maintained by Saab out of Skavsta Airport, they are deployed internationally to combat wildfires, including previous deployments to France during severe fire seasons.
Part of the EU's strategic rescEU reserve, these aerial assets reinforce national capacities when they are needed most. These aircraft are a valuable asset that will support firefighters on the ground and strengthen efforts in the fight against fires.
