Spanish Air Force (Ejército del Aire y del Espacio) have for the first time loaded two NH90s, operated by 803 Squadron of Wing 48, based at Cuatro Vientos (Madrid), into the hold of two separate A400Ms, operated by Wing 31 based in Zaragoza, for strategic transport.

The Spanish Air Force are deploying the aircraft to the Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center, Mississippi, USA, for Exercise Southern Strike 2026, an advanced training exercise focused on special air operations and the integration of capabilities in a joint and multinational environment, organized by the Mississippi Air National Guard.
