Two Chinook military helicopters have arrived in Latvia from Canada to support the Canadian-led NATO Multinational Brigade, Force Opérationnelle Lettonie, stationed in the country. After undergoing flight preparations at Lielvārde air base the aircraft, along with their personnel will further strengthen the Canadian led NATO Multinational Brigade Latvia and will be part of an Aviation Battalion along with the four CH-146 Griffons already in theatre.

NATO’s Multinational Brigade in Latvia also includes troops and equipment from Albania, Czech Republic, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. Forces from the alliance’s most recent addition, Sweden, joined the brigade earlier this year.
